Crimson vows - Chapter 32

Chapter 32

Ten days later….

Sapphire did not like the way things were going in the house. Carl was getting more worried about his sister. The investigation was leading him to nowhere even when he made supreme effort to find out things. She understood she had to step into the matter.

The next day when she went to office, she summoned her junior officer to find out and send her details about all the girl kidnappers in the city. Though Carl told her, his sister had not moved out of the house, Sapphirebeing an investigator by herself for the NIA had her doubts.

She had come across a newspaper article recently where the drug addicts and drunkards kidnap girls. They drug them and sell them to various agencies for an hour or two.

Two days later Sapphire got the information that she wanted. She had the details of four men working in Miami harbor. There is an agency which frequently contacts them for the prostitution business. They kidnap girls and sell them to the agency on a rent for an hour or two.

But the question here is if Sejal was kidnapped in such a way, she would have been out of house for minimum three to four hours and Carl would have known about it through his parents since she was staying in their home.

Nevertheless, to rule out all possibilities, she shared the pictures of the men involved in women trafficking with Carl.

As expected he was surprised how she was having the information and Sapphire had to lie to him that two of the girls were kidnapped in her college by the same gang.

The next day, according to the advice of SapphireCarlwent to his parents house and asked his mother casually, careful not to invoke a doubt if Sejal left out of the house with any of her friends for a day or two.

Elizabeth's reply was partially negative to Carl's question.  However she told him Sejal had left for shopping with her friends to Times Square around two months ago and also got a few pictures with them.

She went to the bedroom to get her phone and was too excited to share the photos with him. Little did she know Carl was not interested in what his sister was wearing and how excited she was with her friends. But his eyes flared daggers at the man who was found in a corner of the picture. He was one of the fishermen Sapphireshowed to him a few hours ago.

He was there dressed as a waiter and serving soup to the girls. Though his picture was not clear, Carl could easily recognize him even from the side angle.

He asked her in a constricted way as a part of his unique investigation with the experience of being a mafia don. "So did Sejal return immediately after her shopping or she had a girls night out with one of her friends?"

Elizabeth laughed it away. Had she had the bleakest idea why her son was asking her these many questions about his sister, her heart would have collapsed by now.

"You know Carl, Sejal is too concerned about you. She told me not to share this with you because you will unnecessarily get worried about her. On that day after lunch at the restaurant, she fainted." Elizabeth blatantly confessed and Carl's heart skipped a beat

"Her friends immediately called for an ambulance and on their way to the hospital one of them called me. We reached the hospital in time but the ambulance was stuck in the traffic and came to the hospital only after two hours. We were worried and your dad scolded the driver for his inability. Does any policeman stop an ambulance because of traffic?" She sighed.

"But thankfully Sejal was safe. They continued to give her treatment on their way to the hospital and the doctor told us she was perfectly fine except for low sugar levels which they had taken care of. Thus we did not lodge a complaint against the driver." Carl ran a series of curses under his breath. His parents were ignorant of what a blunder they committed on not filing charges against the driver.

Sometimes ignorance is bliss. Carl felt the same for his mother. Those people would have most probably raped her while she was in the ambulance and unconscious. Since she was admitted in the hospital on the same day she was molested, her pregnancy would not have been detected.

"This is why exactly your dad told me not to tell you anything. You keep worrying unnecessarily for petty reasons regarding your sister." Elizabeth scolded Carlwhen she heard him mutter curses in perturbation.

Elizabeth asked Carl to stay at home for dinner but not a morsel went down his throat. His mind was completely occupied with the four men who had probably raped his sister. Carl decided to pull out all stops in search of the men.

In the meantime Elliott called him and reached his office. The information, he gave him made hairs stand on Carl's skin.

It was a well planned and executed woman trafficking, his sister was subjected to with not a trace of doubt or evidence to file charges against the assailant.
