Crimson vows - Chapter 33

Chapter 33

"Yeah Elliott, what is the crucial information you want to share with me regarding my sister's problem?" Carl was very much worried about Sejal's situation.

This was the first time he wasn't able to get even a clue about the culprit. Elliott observed his boss. He looked fifteen years older than what he was fifteen days before.

There were dark circles under his eyes which meant he wasn't able to sleep properly since many days.  His optics looked dull, lifeless like he had been sick for ages.

The cancellation of the Russian deal because of the sudden police raid was not helping his present situation any better but adding fuel to the fire.

Though his boss was a mafia leader, Elliott had seen justice prevail in Carl's actions that no courts or judiciary in the country could give to the helpless and shattered.

He is very unhappy with the things turning for his boss. It feels like some witch cast a wicked spell on him. For a man who wouldn't harm even a mosquito unless it bites, there appeared like God was testing his patience. But truth and justice always win at the end of the game and Elliott believed Carl was thus going to have victory.

"I'm sorry sir, I do not have much happy news for you." Elliott stood before his boss with his hands tucked at the back and legs apart waiting for his permission to add the information.

Carl only nodded, rubbing his face with the palms of his hand.  The suspense in his sister's case was draining away all the energy in him. "Take a seat Elliott."

"I have enquired about the pictures of fishermen you sent me a few days ago. This is the woman trafficking mafia sir." Elliott confirmed before gladly accepting the seat Carl offered.

Air washed away from under the breath of Carl. "What are you saying Elliott? If my sister was subjected to women trafficking, why would she return back home? She would have gone kidnapped and we would have received a call from the kidnapper claiming a ransom."

Elliott shook his head. "Why should the criminal kidnap girls and risk his life by hiding them from the world in a secret place and endure their maintenance charges when the same work can be done without any expenditure, sir?"

Carl grilled his teeth in anxiety. "Do not beat around the bush Elliott. Come to the point straight."

Elliott cleared his throat in fear of his boss's rage. "Sir please give me time to explain things clearly. There are drugs in the market that induce low glucose in the body like glimepiride, sitagliptin, insulin etc among patients with condition of high glucose levels popularly known as treatment for diabetes. But when the same drugs are administered in non diabetec people their sugar levels drop to record low which causes low blood glucose. This can take them to unconsciousness, coma and sometimes death too."

Carl turned his revolving chair left and right leaning back with his left ankle resting on the right knee giving Elliott his undivided attention. "So what do you intend saying Elliott?"

Elliott nodded and read some information from the file before he spoke to his boss again. "These fishermen belong to an agency which deals with women and child trafficking. Before taking up the deal, the picture of the girl who is to be targeted along with her details are delivered to these men working at the harbor."

"Sir, I think the big boss who is actually doing these series of kinaps is a doctor or someone associated to medical field who knows right levels of injecting low glucose drugs. In this way she doesn't risk death nor goes to coma but only loses her consciousness for a time gap of 3-4 hours. A man can get enough sexual gratification through her in such a time gap." Carl stared at him unbelievable and with utter shock. "Fucking hell!"

But recollected and slightly nodded easing the pensiveness of Elliott when he saw him rub the sweat on his forehead for his impassivity. "Be at ease Elliott. I'm not going to punch a bullet in your head. I'm trying to absorb every bit of the information you are giving to understand this case better."

Elliott breathed out an air of relief and continued. "The girl can be picked from anywhere. Recently an incident about this gang got me flabbergasted. The fishermen were playing basketball and the ball went out of the court. A girl was passing by and she gave back the ball to them. Not five steps had she taken ahead and she collapsed on the road. Which means, they hid the injection to low down her glucose levels somewhere in the ball. After she fainted they took her to the destination where she was raped and admitted in the hospital with the problem of losing consciousness while walking to her college."

Elliott placed a file before Carl for his perusal and added. "Since the girls are not drugged by some narcotics or a chemical like Chloroform, no doctor will be able to find out they are anesthetized. She would faint because of low sugar levels, admitted and given treatment in the hospital for the same reason and then discharged after a few hours with not a trace of doubt that she was actually narcotized and raped."

Carl's face went red in fury. "So they work in Miami harbor and catch fish? I'm going to kill these fishermen and the person behind them with my own hands."

Elliott shook his head. "It is not so easy to catch them like you think, boss. They are on a flee. The gang leader, I think had done his study on us. He found out we are in search of them and also knows if we catch the fisherman, we will in any case extract the truth either before killing him or before handing him to the police. And in both the cases he cannot escape punishment. So I think he would have already killed them for eradicating any chance of evidence to reach us."

Elliott forwarded a photo of dead body red and bleeding on the work desk of Carl. The photo looked so shattering and torturous that Carl had to close his eyes though himself being a mafia leader. It was the most brutal murder he was seeing. First the complete body was punched with a punching machine. When it started bleeding, pins were inserted to make it bleed more. The eyes were removed from their sockets, teeth were extracted making the mouth bleed and lips were pierced with pin holes. Can a person be given such a torturous death?" He is one of the fishermen whose body was collected by the police near the Miami Harbor. I think the remaining would have met with the same result but the cops are yet to collect their bodies."

Elliott concluded with a soft sigh. "No that cannot happen." Carl slapped his palms on the table and rose up from his seat making Elliott stand stunned with him.

"I need to have those fishermen in my custody before they reach their end to get a grip of that woman trafficking gang." Carl looked fierce like a fireball in fury.

What was Elliott going to do, to pacify Carl? Will he be successful in catching the kidnapper gang?
